Revolution Endurance

brings years of endurance coaching experience to its clients located across the globe. The company formed to provide athletes of all ability levels with the knowledge, structure, accountability, expert guidance and feedback to educate and motivate individuals so they can attain their fitness goals and race to their full potential. For us, coaching is about using a combination of science and practical experience to help athletes develop long-term success.

Over the past two decades we have coached athletes to IRONMAN Age-Group and Overall Championships, achieving qualification for the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, as well as qualification to the USA Triathlon National Championship & ITU World Championships. The same philosophy that guided these athletes to their success has assisted hundreds of individuals in achieving their goals of completing everything from a first 5km Run to an ultra trail marathon, to a century bike ride to the 1200km Paris-Brest-Paris ultra cycling event. Coach Paul

Current Residence:  San Ramon, California

Hometown:  California, Missouri, Kuwait, Texas…yep, I moved around…

Education:  Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology (Cum Laude) from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Certified USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach, IROMAN Certified Coach & TrainingPeaks Certified Coach.

A little personal info about Paul:

Growing up in California, but moving to other parts of the country and overseas in my youth has allowed me to be exposed to other cultures and people that most never experience. Lessons learned from those times living elsewhere I carry with me today and I’m thankful for those encounters in my life. Following graduation from high school in Missouri, I returned to California and have been firmly planted here ever since. After working full-time to put myself through school, I realized that college teaches you absolutely nothing about the real world, but gives you a very expensive, yet fancy diploma to hang on the wall that tells everyone you can learn 🙂 Upon graduating I set out to work for myself and have started two businesses from scratch. I sold off one and still run the most current business, and my passion, Revolution Endurance (former Kinney Multisport).

Coaching Experience:

  • USA Triathlon Certified Coach

  • IRONMAN Certified Coach

  • TrainingPeaks Certified Coach

  • Began coaching in 2001 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s duathlon and triathlon programs.

  • Continued coaching professionally on a part-time basis providing my services to endurance athletes (triathletes, cyclists & runners) through 2008.

  • Created Revolution Endurance (Formerly Kinney Multisport) in 2009 and have been a full-time endurance sports consultant ever since.

Athletic & Coaching Highlights:

  • Former USA Triathlon All-American Triathlete

  • Current IRONMAN All-World Athlete

  • 5-Time Death Ride Finisher

  • Coached Ironman Age-Group and Overall Champions.

  • Coached multiple Ironman 70.3 and 140.6 World Championship Qualifiers and finishers.

  • Proud to have coached hundreds of beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletes to achieve their fitness goals and complete events ranging from 5k runs to 100k Ultras, to the 1200k Paris-Brest-Paris bike ride, to IRONMAN & IRONMAN 70.3s all over the globe, including the iconic IRONMAN World Championships.

Why Revolution Endurance (former Kinney Multisport) ?

The creation of Revolution Endurance came about as a necessity. As my client base began to grow and endurance coaching was becoming my primary source of income it made sense to create an official company. 2009 would arguably not be the best time to start a business, but I had essentially been in business for more than 7 years, just on a part-time basis, and more to follow my passion for coaching endurance athletes. Kinney Multisport allowed me to take the official leap into making that passion a full-time job.

Hobbies

Things that go fast. Auto Racing, in particular Formula 1. Travel & hiking. Dogs. I love dogs & chocolate & coffee.

Did you know?

I was being recruited out of high school to play football. Not soccer-type football, but American football. Granted, I was 30 pounds heavier at age 18 and thought I might give that a try, but I wanted to leave the Midwest and return to California. So, out the door went football, and in came auto racing! I raced cars and shifter karts with decent success from 1990-2001. If you think triathlon is expensive, get into auto/kart racing. All of a sudden doing triathlons or bike racing seems very cheap.

Ilona Kinney

Current Residence:  San Ramon, California

Hometown:  Osnabrueck, Germany

Education:  Bachelor in Business Administration, Menopause 2.0 – 5-week course by Stacy Sims, Ph.D – November 2022, UESCA Certified Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach, IRONMAN Certified Coach, ISSA Certified Fitness and Sport Nutritionist

A little personal info about Ilona:

I earned dual degrees in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University and Kaethe-Kollwitz University in Marburg, Germany. After completing my degrees, I moved to San Francisco where I worked as a Director of Revenue Management.  Working and training for an Ironman encouraged me to find ways to take care of my physical self to optimize performance and recovery. I quickly learned the importance of exercise and nutrition and how they work hand in hand.

But that in and of itself was not enough. The realization came when I noticed that many of my coworkers had poor diets, lacked regular, or any, exercise & possessed a limited desire to make effective lifestyle changes were contributing to the high stress and unhealthy lifestyles that are so commonplace in our society. As a result, I left my corporate job and now assists my husband in running our endurance coaching business based in the San Ramon, California.

Coaching Experience:

  • Menopause 2.0 – 5 week course by Stacy Sims, Ph.D.

  • UESCA – Certified Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach

  • ISSA – Certified Sports and Fitness Nutritionist

  • IMU

Athletic Highlights:

  • AG Triathlete

  • Boston Marathon Qualifier

  • Death Ride Finisher

Why Revolution Endurance (Formerly Kinney Multisport)?

I started Revolution Endurance Sports and Fitness Nutrition to help athletes be the best they can be through nutrition, just as it has positively affected my health and triathlon. I want to help an athlete achieve their true potential but not at the cost of their long-term health.

Hobbies

Besides triathlon…Yoga, hiking, traveling the world, dogs, coffee

Did you know?

My roommate signed me up for my first IRONMAN (Vineman in 2012) and told me after the fact what I would be doing in my spare time. Let’s do it was my response because: I set my goal, built a path to achieve that goal, and work hard until I hit success. REPEAT!

Meaghan Praznik

  • Meaghan Praznik is a competitive Revolution Endurance athlete and coach. Having worked with Coach Paul Kinney for the majority of her racing years, she has completed over 20 IRONMAN races and has earned 15 podium finishes with three overall AG Champion finishes. Meaghan has also qualified for the 70.3 IRONMAN World Championships five times and has qualified/raced in the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, HI three times. She has qualified for and raced the Boston Marathon four times, and has posted two sub-3:00 marathon times. She has also raced countless ultramarathons.
  • Meaghan’s first introduction to racing was in kindergarten when her mom signed her up for her dentist’s office’s annual ‘Smile Mile’ challenge. She ran a 7:00 mile, losing only to a boy whose dad paced him the entire race. Since then, she vowed to always compete with the boys, firmly believes that women athletes are just as competitive and strong as their male counterparts, and more importantly, has been an advocate for equity and equality in women’s sports.
  • Meaghan grew up playing competitive soccer in Central Florida and was a member of numerous Florida State Cup teams and the 3v3 National Championship team. Her first introduction to triathlon was in middle school when she started training for sprint triathlons as a way to stay in shape for soccer during the off-season. Later in high school, Meaghan suffered a soccer injury that ended her participation in the sport. However, a lover of all things athletics, she took up running, swimming, and rowing and was recruited to row for Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. After college, Meaghan adopted trail and ultra running. In 2015 she placed 3rd at the Spartan World Championships for the ultra marathon distance.
  • In addition to racing and coaching, Meaghan is also a public relations and communications professional and consultant. With over 15 years of experience in the health, wellness, sport, nutrition, and tech sectors, she is passionate about elevating mission-driven brands. Most recently, Meaghan was the head of global communications for the trail-finding and navigation app, AllTrails. During her tenure at AllTrails, she worked closely with physicians and scientists to understand and communicate the health benefits of spending time outside, movement, and nature contact. Before AllTrails, she managed athlete and nutrition communications at Clif Bar, working closely with registered dietitians to understand and communicate the benefits of pre-, during, and post-activity/race nutrition. Meaghan has been a guest speaker at The American College of Sports Medicine National Symposium, where she presented findings on a scalable approach to ’Exercise as Medicine’. She has also spoken at the Haku Annual Conference on ‘Driving Engagement Through Storytelling’ for the sport and outdoor industry.
  • Meaghan’s personal and professional philosophy is rooted in the belief that a sound health and wellness practice is a necessary foundation for a healthy, balanced life. She applies a quality-over-quantity approach to her training and coaching and is passionate about helping people achieve total well-being through wholesome nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and time outside. She is also currently working on her level 1 yoga certification.
  • Meaghan and her husband, Michael, live in Danville, CA with their 3 rescue pups and a rescue kitty. In her spare time, Meaghan loves cooking (and eating!), yoga, relaxing with her animals, traveling, learning about new cultures (and trying their food!), and anything that involves time spent outside in warm weather and the sunshine. A big believer in rituals, Meaghan has not changed her pre-, during, and (most importantly) post-race fueling practice in over 5 years. She firmly believes that post-race shower beers and pizza are the best meal combo on the planet, and welcomes anyone to challenge her otherwise.
